Sean Manning
"Always Faithful"
Sean Patrick Manning passed away March 30, 2004 at the age of 31. He had suffered from brain cancer for six years and died peacefully in his home in West Valley City, Utah.
Sean was born June 2, 1972 in Provo, Utah, the son of Gene and Joellyn Manning, currently residing in Salem, Utah. He graduated from Provo High School in 1990 and fulfilled a two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Sweden. On June 14, 1996 he was sealed to his sweetheart Cathy Walstad in the Salt Lake Temple, and they became the parents of two beautiful children, Jacob Sean (age 4) and Emma Jo (age 1). Sean served honorably with the Salt Lake City Police Department for six years, a job that he loved because so many of his associates became his loyal friends.
Sean is survived by his wife Cathy and their children; his parents; his brother David (Cindy) of Payson; and his sisters, Maureen Warren (Brent) and Shannon Manning of Salem.
We are grateful to have shared his life.
Friends are encouraged to join the family Friday, April 2, 2004, from 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 3, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. at the Hunter 17th Ward, 3745 South 6400 West. Prior to the services, friends may call Saturday at the church from 9-9:45 a.m. Sean will be laid to rest at the Salem City Cemetery, Salem, Utah. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Sean's name at the Utah Law Enforcement Credit Union, 450 East 900 South, Salt Lake City, Utah 84111.
